SEPTEMBER 2008

September brought a lot of morning (read: all day) sickness for me. But it also brought a visit from Pinki and Issy. The boys enjoyed the Dinosaur Park. Here is Colin riding a mammoth!

Then Dylan and Colin narrowly escaped the jaws of a T-Rex! What a dangerous, yet fun day!

Playing on the playset with Bobba and Zaida.

It was a windy Sunday so we decided we would go out and fly kites. Jonny almost lost one of our kites in the neighbor's yard (3 yards over).

It was not until later on in the day that we realized that perhaps we shouldn't have been outside flying kites considering the winds (which got much worse) were the remnants of Hurricane Ike.

Later on that day, we celebrated Jonny's birthday. Here is a family portrait.

Another day, while gardening, we found a praying mantis. We named him Manny. The boys were fascinated.

We actually saw Manny several more times. He seemed to like us.

We got a visit from Hillary, Aaron and Wilson at the end of the month. The boys liked riding in the tractor.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!
School began August 13 this year. Dylan was super-excited to begin Kindergarten!

Here is the big boy getting ready to walk to school.

We walked Dylan to his classroom, he gave us a hug and kiss and then walked right on in. I was so proud of him but a bit sad at the same time. I cannot believe he is such a big boy already!

Here is Colin after we dropped Dylan off at school. It seems he was not quite sure about how he felt seeing Dylan go off to kindergarten.

Here are Dylan and I when I went to pick him up. He wanted a picture in front of the school sign...Rosa Parks Elementary School.

The next day, Colin had his first day of school at Gan Shalom. He was all ready to go!

And here he is after his first day! Looks like they wore him out! (I am not quite sure why the picture would not turn the other way).

AUGUST 2008
August was full of visits as well. Renee came to visit us from California and The Kriebich Family came from Philly...although I do not seem to have many pictures from their visit.

Dylan loves his cousin....

..in fact both Colin and Dylan had a great time with Renee. They just love her!

Just in case anyone is wondering why I have gotten so far behind in posting on the blog.....here is my reason....

For those of you who do not already know, yes, we are expecting Baby #3. Pop is due March 19. We are so happy and excited. The boys are very excited....Dylan definitely is excited about the baby, Colin is excited but I am not sure he fully realizes what exactly is going to happen in a few months. I took a picture of the pregnancy test and scrapbooked it immediately (such a first for me! Thanks for the title idea Kari!). This is how I told Jonny I was pregnant!
The first trimester was really rough for me. Now that I am feeling human again, I am trying to catch up! Eventually I will be back on track!
JULY 2008

July was a hot but fun and busy month. We had lots of friends and family visits to keep us busy while the kids waited (dreaded) the start of school.

We hung out with the Kreibich family...Neil and Colin like to be naked! Frat boys.

Dylan just loves hanging out with Arati Auntie and all he wanted to do was hold Baby Jay!

The four boy cousins. Nikki held her own with them. Unfortunately, I do not have a pic with all 5 cousins...I need to get one from Bryan and Michelle. Nikki is definitely the princess of the group...so sweet.

We had a playgroup at the park and arranged for the local fire truck to come by. The firemen were so nice and the kids had a GREAT time. Dylan talked with this particular fireman for about 20 mins asking him all sorts of questions. The fireman couldn't believe he was only 5 years old. Dylan kept him on his toes!

Colin enjoyed pretending to drive the fire truck. This was such a fun experience for everyone.

Dylan wanted a picture with the firemen. I think he asked each one at least 5 questions. They were great with him.

Dylan going for a ride with Auntie Dee. What a treat this was!

Dylan LOVED the fact that Auntie Dee got her nails painted with Dylan and Colin's names on them for the occasion.

Colin and Grant. Grant was so patient and wonderful with the kids. Colin definitely loved hanging out with his cousins. All the boys had fun together.

We never managed to get ALL the cousins together for a picture but here is the closest we got while the cousins were hanging out. Andrea, Chase, Dylan, Renee and Grant.

Colin certainly looks guilty but he was not the sole one responsible for burying his cousins. Tyler and Grant were good sports about it!

Chris and Chase ready to go for a boat ride.

Grant (in the blue) and his friend, Dylan, Colin and Blake. Look how Colin is holding Blake's hand. Colin wanted nothing to do with anyone except Blake. Blake was Number One! Blake was so sweet with Colin. They are all wonderful boys.

Dylan definitely had a crush on Aunt Vicki and Aunt Sandie! He just wanted to hang out and talk to them. Such a Ladies Man.

JUNE 2008

Is it really a new post???? Can it be true? We had a fun filled summer....here are some highlights from June!

Fun at the KY Horse Park. The boys enjoyed a pony ride...

...and then a ride on Daddy! Boy is he strong!

The boys and I headed down to Arkansas with Hillary, Aaron and Wilson to visit our fellow Brrr Mama, Amy! We had a great time...although it was too short...as always!
Here are the 3 brrr babies, Jack, Aaron and Colin (no longer babies anymore are they?)

Dylan enjoyed playing big brother to all the kids!

Everyone loved hearing stories from Ms Amy!

Slip N Slide....a story in pictures.

Guess who decided it was finally time to sleep in his big boy bed? YAY Colin!

A Father's Day spent building things. We went to Lowe's for the boys to build a tape measure. Dylan followed all the rules and kept his goggles on.

Colin's goggles barely made it for 1 min....he preferred to play it dangerously.

The finished products!

The Father's Day Tradition. When Dylan was born, I made a shirt for Jonny with a picture of him and Dylan for his first Father's Day. As a joke, we put Dylan in it and now it has become a tradition. Every year the boys try on their t-shirt. I cannot believe how much they have grown!

Dylan's thoughts
For kindergarten, every child needs an eye exam before school starts. I decided to get Dylan's done so I was not scrambling at the end to get an appointment. He got his eyes dilated and while we were waiting for him to get tested he said, "Mommy, I cannot see very well out of my left eye. Actually this is annoying. Mommy, what kind of eye doctor is this? I could see FINE out of BOTH eyes when I came in here!" I lost it as did the receptionist. Out of the mouth of a 5 year old.

Dylan's graduation from Gan Shalom preschool

The preschool had a really cute ceremony for the end of the year. All the kids were up on stage and they sang songs. It was hilarious to see the smaller kids trying so hard to stay still. Colin was a bit restless. Here he is peeking out. He wanted to wear a button down shirt, tie and a green plastic lei.

Here is a shot of all the kids, their teachers, and Mr. Charley, the music teacher, in the middle. Colin is on the left side (one kid right of the lady in black) and Dylan is in a blue shirt on the right side (just right of the lady in peach).

Dylan and his "diploma". I tried to get a picture of him actually receiving it but someone stood up right in front of me as I snapped the picture. I was ticked but a parent reminded me "better that happen now than when he graduates from high school." Thanks for the perspective...he was totally right.

Dylan and Mr. Charley the music teacher. Who, by the way, looks amazingly like (and even has mannerisms similar to) Thomas Kreibich. I actually asked Dylan one day if he thought Mr. Charley looked like Uncle Tom, and he said "You know Mommy, he really does. That is strange!"

Dylan and his teacher, Ms. Megan. She was such a great teacher. Dylan (and we) loved her.
