Halloween and associated events

We got the pumpkin carving festivities underway by cleaning out the pumpkins. Colin was fascinated by this. As soon as I opened the first one, he said "Bleech!"

Then Dylan got a bit carried away and decided a new hat would be something he would like to try. I think he decided it was a bit too heavy.

However, upon seeing his big brother try the new hat on, Colin also HAD try it on. Just another example of how Colin idolizes his big brother.

I just love the intense look on all three boys' faces. There is some serious jack-o-lantern designing going on in this picture.

We went to a playgroup at a local pumpkin patch. There was this pretty picture spot and this was the best picture I could get of the two of them. It may not be a sweet little Norman Rockwell, but I think it describes Dylan and Colin pretty well.

I think this will be a traditional picture every year. Although I could not for the life of me get Colin to stand there.

And here we go...the culmination of the month...Halloween! Dylan LOVED his Buzz Lightyear costume and Colin seemed to really enjoy his Woody costume. Although, technically Buzz is shorter than Woody. The boys went trick or treating with Dylan's friend from soccer, Alan (the policeman) and his brother Eric (the little devil). They all had a blast.

October 2007
Fall is here! This time of year always holds a special place in our hearts. Something about the crispness in the air, the gentle breeze, the beautiful colors. For some reason it just seems to lift the spirits.

We began with a trip to a pumpkin patch near Cincinnati. The rain held off just long enough for us to have a fun time on the hay ride out to the pumpkin patch....

...and for a nice time looking for pumpkins.

When we got back to Hillary and Todd's house, Aaron and Colin did some goofing around with their shirts on their heads. Crazy kids.

We took a little trip to meet up with Amir, Jonny's very good friend from high school, while he was in town visiting his wife's family. We also got to meet his son Nate. What a cutie he is!

At Hillary and Todd's annual football party, Colin thought he could sneak a beer. He got caught red handed!

Dylan had his last Shaolin class for this session. He is pretty good with twirling the stick (really a piece of PVC pipe....but hey, it works!)

So, I thought I was being creative when we got the Great Big Toy Book from Toys R Us. I told Dylan to cut out pictures of things he wanted from Santa and we would glue the pictures on some paper to make his list. Well, needless to say, the catalog did not have many pictures left after he was done with it!
