Our trip to Kentucky

Unfortunately, the trip started out on a sour note (so I put Colin's cute pic here to make me more happy as I type). Our flight was canceled due to bad weather. We waited two hours for another flight. The we waited 45 minutes on the plane on our second leg to make sure we had enough gas.

We were supposed to get in at 6pm and did not get in until midnight. As if that was not bad enough, they lost our luggage. Nothing more fun than going out at midnight in a city you do not know to look for diapers and other assorted sundries for the kids. At least we got our bags the next day so it could have been worse. The next day Jonny went on day 1 of his interview.

I went and met one of my "imaginary friends" (a friend from a pregnancy bulletin board I joined) and her son then off to dinner with Jonny's potential future boss. Friday morning Jonny had more interviews while Dylan, Colin and I went out to breakfast, went to the park, toured the city a bit and played at the play area in the mall.

Friday afternoon and Saturday morning we went house hunting. Then, since Lexington is the horse capital of the world, we went to the Kentucky Horse Park where Dylan rode a pony because, in his words, "I do not think I am big enough to ride a big horse. They are REALLY big. I will just ride a pony." But the good news is that they made Jonny an offer but he has to negotiate some of the details. So we will see what happens with Wisconsin and VCU and hopefully by the end of August we should know where we will be living next year!
Fathers Day

I couldn't resist not posting about Father's Day. We had a good time. Jonny enjoyed opening his presents from the boys and he got to relax on the hammock.

I think the best part of the day, however, was when he got out the slip n slide for the first time. This thing has changed since we were kids. There is now a blow up area on the end to keep you from continuing to slide right off the thing and into the scratchy grass thus preventing many cuts and scrapes. Kids these days are such wimps! Anyhow, Jonny was helping Dylan slide down and I casually mentioned maybe he should slide down with Colin. The next thing I knew, Colin was sliding on the slip n slide on his own! UGH! I got pretty peeved until Colin got to the end with this huge smile on his face. I think we have found out who the daredevil of the family will be!
