Dylan's graduation from Gan Shalom preschool

The preschool had a really cute ceremony for the end of the year. All the kids were up on stage and they sang songs. It was hilarious to see the smaller kids trying so hard to stay still. Colin was a bit restless. Here he is peeking out. He wanted to wear a button down shirt, tie and a green plastic lei.

Here is a shot of all the kids, their teachers, and Mr. Charley, the music teacher, in the middle. Colin is on the left side (one kid right of the lady in black) and Dylan is in a blue shirt on the right side (just right of the lady in peach).

Dylan and his "diploma". I tried to get a picture of him actually receiving it but someone stood up right in front of me as I snapped the picture. I was ticked but a parent reminded me "better that happen now than when he graduates from high school." Thanks for the perspective...he was totally right.

Dylan and Mr. Charley the music teacher. Who, by the way, looks amazingly like (and even has mannerisms similar to) Thomas Kreibich. I actually asked Dylan one day if he thought Mr. Charley looked like Uncle Tom, and he said "You know Mommy, he really does. That is strange!"

Dylan and his teacher, Ms. Megan. She was such a great teacher. Dylan (and we) loved her.

One day for lunch, Dylan decided that HE wanted to make us lunch. We sliced the bread and then Dylan took over. He cut up cheese, buttered bread and made us sandwiches. And he only charged $1.01 for lunch! What a deal!

In case anyone is wondering, we had just come in from riding bikes and Colin refused to take his helmet off. He ran around the house for about 30 mins with that helmet on. He was on dish duty while Dylan cooked.

A Project Post

I keep saying we have been so busy so I thought I would give a taste of some things we have been up to lately.

This is a picture of the front of the house to the right of the front door as it was when we moved in. Mowing that small patch of grass was a big pain in the tuchas and we also were not in love with the bushes so we did some landscaping.

Here it is after all of our work. I really love it. However no one has said anything to us about it so I am a bit nervous that the neighbors are not as in love with it as I am. Oh well. Dylan's favorite thing to do is go sit on the bench in the front yard and "enjoy the beautiful day." The tree is a crabapple tree (I named it Edna...Simpsons fans will get that reference), we added a park bench and a honeysuckle vine in the back along with some various native Kentucky plants and flowers. I cannot wait to see it when everything is all grown in.

Here is our raised vegetable garden in the back of the boys' playset. It is growing amazingly fast. We will see if we actually get to partake in any of the veggies or if the squirrels, chipmunks, bunnies and other animals get to it before we do.

I saw this "exploding box" from a couple of people and I thought it was very cute so I decided to make one for Pinki for Mothers Day.

I included pictures of our Disney trip. It turned out pretty cute.

Colin even liked it!

And finally, the picture frames for the teachers in Dylan and Colin's preschool. I made 14 in all. By the way, for some reason, I could not get this picture to rotate. I have done it many times in the past but this one just would not cooperate.

So the frame was 8 x 10 and I put the teacher's name on top, a picture of the teacher and her students, then below it is a bunch of quotes from the students about what they liked about their teacher. the quotes were really cute. The teachers seemed to enjoy the frames.

Dylan is loving t-ball!
After two seasons of soccer, Dylan was ready to try something else. Everything has clicked with t-ball! He loves his team, he loves his coach and he loves playing! It is amazing to see him so excited about this!
